These pieces of Scrimshaw Art were on display at the joint exhibit of The Art and Craft of South Carolina Knifemakers. The exhibit ran from November 8, 2005 through June 11, 2006 and was located at the South Carolina State Museum, Columbia, S. Carolina. These pieces are now available for an immediate purchase.  Contact Sandra for more details on each piece of scrimshaw.

She was also a guest speaker on opening day for that event and will return to the show for the 2007 season.


Scrimshaw Powder horn $975


The powder horn (seen above and below) is a Reproduction of a 1700's Pensylvania style horn. The tip is threaded and can be removed for ease of filling.

Scrimshaw hummingbird neckalce on Mokume setting with gemstones $450


This hummingbird has a Mokume setting, inlayed with Elephant ivory. Beads of rhodochrosite, rhodonite, natural amethyst and gold filled with a gold filled clasp.

"First Born" - Mammoth Ivory Shard from a tusk mounted on a walnut base. It is scrimmed with an African mother and her infant child. Behind her are hieroglyphics on the wall and beyond the wall is her husband standing near a tree.

This recent photo of Sandra with Paul Newman was taken at a charity auction where a pool cue Sandra scrimmed was actioned off. The custom made "Drexler" cue featured scenes from the original Hustler movie, and was autographed by Paul Newman. The entire $30,000.00 winning bid went to the Hole in The Wall Gang Camp. This is a camp for children with potentially life threatening diseases.

The Hustler Pool Cue sold at auction for $30,000.00. Proceeds to benefit The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp” for terminally ill children.

Professional Knifemakers Association. Best collaboration award shared with Don Hethcoat.
